Properties and uses of African Bati wood

Bark: 1-3cm thick, soft and easy to peel. Outer skin grayish brown to grayish white; with fine turtle cracks. The endothelium is yellowish brown; the phloem fiber is developed and easy to tear into loose needle or hemp filament; the stone cells are developed.
Cross section: the difference between heartwood and sapwood is obvious. Heartwood dark yellow to orange. Sapwood is yellowish or yellowish white, about 4cm wide. The growth ring is not obvious. Macrostructure: porous material.
The main hole is single tube hole, few in diameter and 2 in double pipe hole. It contains yellowish brown sediment and infilling body. Axial parenchyma can be seen under magnifying glass, sparse ring tubular, and can be seen under wood ray magnifier, slightly dense and narrow.
Application: suitable for outdoor floor, garden landscape, outdoor anticorrosive wood, indoor floor, high grain furniture, interior decoration, door and window cabinet, vehicle and ship bridge, etc.
It is suitable for building engineering, high-grade corrosion-resistant outdoor materials, shipbuilding, wharf, sleeper, decorative veneer, floor, stair handrail, furniture, joinery, etc. It can be used as a substitute for hemlock
